Around the world, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr – the “festival of the breaking of the fast” – to mark the end of Ramadan. A record-breaking heat wave in Asia saw temperatures in Thailand and Bangladesh exceed 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).
